The Fulbright Program is the United States' largest scientific and cultural exchange program. It is considered by many to be one of the most prestigious exchange programs in the world, with a reputation far beyond academia.
For over 75 years, the Fulbright Program has supported cooperation for the development of science, culture as well as interpersonal and inter-institutional relations between the United States and over 160 countries.
The more we are pleased to announce that for 6 weeks, the Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła, hosts assoc. prof. Dr. Joyce Maxwell from Union County College - a scholarship holder of the Fulbright Specialist Program, supervised in our country by the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission.
Assoc. prof. Dr. Joyce Maxwell will be leading a series of workshops at our University as part of the Multiculturalism in Medical Professions and Treatment project, which is addressed to students and academic teachers of nursing and paramedic sciences. The Training of Trainers activity will be an additional element of the project. It focuses on training selected employees of the University in the field of communication skills necessary to work in an ethnically and culturally diverse environment, so that they can pass the acquired knowledge to colleagues and students in an friendly and accessible way. The University's medical academic teachers will especially benefit from this program, because during numerous meetings with Dr. Maxwell, they will be able to learn about the American work methodology and academic experience.
In addition to increasing the competences of our students and employees, we want the project to end with the joint development of a special guidebook for current and future students of our University.
However, these are not all the activities that we plan as part of the project, so we invite you to continue following our website.
